Welcome to, Skate Nation. By accessing or using our website and participating in our roller skating classes, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using this website and enrolling in any of our roller skating classes, private lessons or attending roller events you agree to the following Terms of Service, as well as our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the website or participate in any of our services.
2. Eligibility
Participants must be at least [14] years old to enroll in our adult classes. For minors participating in kids classes [under 13], parental or legal guardian consent is required, and they must accompany the minor during lessons unless stated the children can be left with the instructors (e.g. school holiday programs)
3. Registration
To participate in our classes, you may be required to register on our website and provide accurate, current, and complete information. You agree to update your information as necessary to ensure its accuracy.
4. Kids Classes and School Holiday Programs
- Age Requirements
a. Kids' classes and school holiday programs are designed for children aged 7 to 14 years old.
b. Parents or guardians must ensure their child meets the age requirements at the time of booking. Children outside this age range may not be admitted.
-Booking and Payment
a. All classes and holiday programs must be booked in advance. Spaces are limited and filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
b. Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure a spot for your child.
c. In the event of overbooking or a class being full, parents will be notified and given the option to transfer to another class or receive a refund.
-Cancellations and Refunds
a. Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the start of the class or program will be eligible for a full refund.
b. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the class or program will not be refunded unless due to extenuating circumstances, as determined by the organizers.
c. In the case of cancellation by the organizers, parents will be offered either a full refund or a rescheduled date.
-Supervision and Conduct
a. All children must follow the instructor’s guidance and safety rules during classes. Disruptive behavior may result in the child being removed from the session, with no refund provided.
b. Parents or guardians are required to remain at the venue for the duration of the class unless otherwise specified (e.g., in the case of full-day programs).
c. Children must be dropped off and picked up promptly at the designated times.
-Safety and Equipment
a. All children must wear appropriate skating safety gear, including helmets, knee pads, and wrist guards.
b. The organizers will not be held responsible for injuries sustained during the class unless due to negligence on the part of the instructor. Parents are encouraged to ensure their child is adequately insured.
-Photographs and Videos
a. Photos and videos may be taken during kids’ classes and holiday programs for promotional purposes.
b. Parents or guardians who do not wish for their child to be included in promotional material must notify the organizers before the start of the class or program. Reasonable efforts will be made to accommodate such requests.
5. Payments and Refunds
Payment for classes must be made in advance through our website. Fees are listed on the registration page and may vary depending on the class or event.
6. Refund Policy
We understand that plans can change. Our refund policy is as follows:
- Full Refunds: You may request a full refund if you cancel your registration at least [24] hours before the class starts. All refund requests must be made in writing via [email/contact form].
- No Refunds: Cancellations made within [24] hours of the class start time are not eligible for a refund.
- Class Cancellations by Us: If we cancel or reschedule a class due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., weather, instructor availability), you will be offered the choice of a full refund or the opportunity to transfer your registration to a future class or event.
- No-Shows: If you do not attend the class and do not provide prior notice, no refund will be issued.
7. Code of Conduct
All participants are expected to behave respectfully towards instructors and other participants. We reserve the right to remove anyone from a class for disruptive, unsafe, or inappropriate behavior without a refund.
8. Assumption of Risk
By participating in any roller skating activities, you acknowledge and accept that rollerskating is a physically demanding and potentially hazardous activity. You assume all risks associated with participating in these activities, including but not limited to falls, collisions, and other potential injuries.
9. Limitation of Liability
You agree that Skate Nation and its instructors, employees, contractors, or agents will not be liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising out of or in connection with your participation in our roller skating classes or events. This includes but is not limited to personal injury, property damage, or theft.
10. Waiver of Liability
By registering for our classes, you agree to release and discharge Skate Nation and its representatives from all claims, damages, liabilities, and costs arising out of your participation in our classes, including any injuries or accidents that may occur before, during, or after the sessions.
11. Medical Conditions
You confirm that you are in good physical health and do not suffer from any medical condition that may impair your ability to safely participate in roller skating activities. It is your responsibility to consult a physician before participating if you have any health concerns.
12. Use of Equipment
If we provide certain roller skating equipment for use during classes. You are responsible for ensuring the equipment is used properly and safely. Any damage to our equipment caused by misuse will result in a charge for repairs or replacement.
13. Intellectual Property
All content, including videos, images, text, and materials provided on our website or during our classes, is the property of Skate Nation and may not be copied, distributed, or used without our prior written consent.
14. Class Cancellations
We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule classes due to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to weather, safety concerns, or insufficient enrollment. In such cases, participants will be notified in advance, and any prepaid fees may be applied to a future class.
15. Terms and Conditions for Private Lessons
-Booking and Payment
a. All private lessons must be booked in advance through the provided contact channels.
b. A deposit of 50% of the total fee is required at the time of booking to secure your lesson slot. The remaining balance is due before the start of the lesson.
c. Payments can be made via direct bank deposit, and all prices are non-negotiable unless agreed upon in writing.
-Cancellations and Rescheduling
a. Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the scheduled lesson time will be eligible for a full refund of the deposit.
b. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the lesson will forfeit the deposit unless due to an emergency, at the discretion of the instructor.
c. Rescheduling is permitted up to 24 hours before the scheduled lesson, subject to availability.
- Late Arrivals
a. If the student arrives late, the lesson will still end at the originally scheduled time. No additional time will be added, and no refund will be given for lost time.
b. If the instructor is late, additional time will be added to the lesson or a partial refund will be offered.
-Safety and Equipment
a. All students are required to have their own skates and must wear appropriate safety gear depending on skill level, including but not limited to helmets, knee pads, and wrist guards, unless otherwise specified by the instructor.
b. The instructor reserves the right to refuse the lesson if the student arrives without appropriate safety gear, with no refund provided.
c. Students participate at their own risk. It is the student’s responsibility to inform the instructor of any medical conditions or injuries prior to the lesson.
-Lesson Conduct
a. Private lessons are for the individual(s) booked and are not transferable to others without prior agreement.
b. Disruptive behavior, refusal to follow instructions, or unsafe practices during the lesson may result in the lesson being terminated early, with no refund.
-Liability
a. The instructor is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage sustained during or after the lesson unless caused by the instructor’s negligence.
b. Students are encouraged to have personal insurance that covers roller skating activities.
16. Group Private Lesson Bookings
-Group Size
a. Group private lessons are available for a minimum of 3 students and a maximum of 10 students.
b. The lesson fee is calculated based on the total number of students and the duration of the session.
-Group Booking Payment
a. A deposit of 50% of the total group lesson fee is required at the time of booking to secure the session. The balance is due before the lesson begins.
b. One individual must be designated as the primary contact and is responsible for organizing payment on behalf of the group.
-Cancellations and Rescheduling for Group Lessons
a. Cancellations for group lessons must be made at least 24 hours in advance for a full refund of the deposit.
b. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled lesson will result in the forfeiture of the deposit unless due to an emergency, at the discretion of the instructor.
c. Rescheduling of group lessons is subject to availability and must be requested at least 24 hours before the scheduled lesson.
-Late Arrivals for Group Lessons
a. If any group member arrives late, the lesson will still end at the originally scheduled time. No additional time will be added, and no partial refund will be given for lost time.
b. If the instructor is late, additional time will be added to the lesson or a partial refund will be offered.
-Safety and Conduct for Group Lessons
a. All students in the group must wear appropriate safety gear, including helmets, knee pads, and wrist guards.
b. Any disruptive or unsafe behavior by group members may result in early termination of the lesson, with no refund.
c. The group’s primary contact is responsible for ensuring that all participants are aware of and comply with the safety requirements.
17. Use of Photos and Videos in Classes
-Photographs and Recordings
a. During private lessons, group lessons, and events, photos and videos may be taken by the instructor or designated personnel for promotional purposes.
b. These images and videos may be used in marketing materials, including but not limited to social media, websites, flyers, and advertisements for future lessons or events.
c. By attending the lesson or event, you consent to the use of your likeness in such media without compensation or prior notification.
-Opting Out
a. If you prefer not to have your photo or video taken or used for promotional purposes, please notify the instructor or staff before the lesson or event begins.
b. Reasonable efforts will be made to avoid capturing individuals who have opted out, but it may not always be possible in group settings. In such cases, photos or videos where you appear will not be used publicly.
-Media Sharing by Participants
a. Students are welcome to take photos or videos of their own performances or progress during the class, provided it does not disrupt the lesson.
b. Sharing these on social media is encouraged, but please credit the instructor or event page where appropriate.
18. Terms and Conditions for Roller Disco Events
-Event Admission and Tickets
a. Entry to roller disco events is available through both paid tickets and free tickets.
b. Tickets must be purchased or reserved in advance through the official event page, subject to availability.
c. Door Sales: Limited tickets may be available for purchase at the door on the day of the event. However, door sales are not guaranteed and are subject to availability. We recommend purchasing tickets in advance to secure entry.
e. All attendees, whether ticket holders or free entry participants, must check in upon arrival and present a valid ticket confirmation.
-Cancellations and Refunds
a. All ticket sales are final. No refunds will be issued unless the event is canceled by the organizers.
b. If the event is canceled, ticket holders will be notified via email, and refunds or rescheduling options will be offered.
c. In the event of adverse weather or unforeseen circumstances for outdoor events, the organizers reserve the right to reschedule or move the event to an indoor location.
d. In the event of adverse weather or unforeseen circumstances during the run time for outdoor events, the organizers reserve the right to cancel the rest of the event for safety, in this circumstance No refunds will be given.
e. In the event of adverse, unforeseen circumstances or major safety issues during the run time for indoor events, the organizers reserve the right to cancel the rest of the event, in this circumstance No refunds will be given.
-Event Conduct and Safety
a. All attendees must adhere to safety guidelines, including wearing appropriate skating gear, such as helmets and pads, if required by the event.
b. Disruptive or unsafe behavior will not be tolerated. The organizers reserve the right to remove any individual or group acting inappropriately without a refund.
c. Alcohol consumption is not permitted at the venue unless specifically allowed by the event’s terms. Attendees under the influence of drugs or alcohol may be refused entry or asked to leave.
-Indoor and Outdoor Events
a. Indoor events are held in designated venues, with all attendees required to follow venue-specific rules and regulations.
b. Outdoor events may be subject to weather conditions. Attendees are responsible for dressing appropriately and checking event updates for any changes.
c. The organizers are not liable for any personal injury, loss, or damage to property during indoor or outdoor events.
-Liability
a. Participation in roller disco events is at the attendee’s own risk.
b. The event organizers and venue are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage sustained during the event unless caused by negligence.
c. Attendees are encouraged to have personal insurance that covers skating activities.
-Photographs and Recordings
a. By attending the event, participants consent to being photographed or filmed for promotional purposes.
b. If you do not wish to be included in any event media, please inform the organizers upon arrival.
19. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and your continued use of our services following such modifications will constitute your acceptance of the new terms.
20. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Auckland New Zealand.
